Dinosaur Jr is one of those bands that can go through time and no matter how many moments you play their albums or buy the reissues it still never gets old. I liked them back when I still listened somewhat crap music like Rush or Hole. As far as I'm concerned Dinosaur Jr were the ones who bore the original crazy use of distortion and feedback. -Thanks for that, but a few years later we're going to have all these little Pixies and Nirvanas running around. So much for alternative rock?
You're Living All Over Me is Jr's second and undoubtedly best album, Green Mind comes in at a close second and is essentially followed by Without a Sound for third. Maybe switch those two? It's hard to decide. Anyway, I really do love J Mascis and his distinct, oddly beautiful voice. I'm thinking of ways to explain how I hear his voice as but I keep typing weird shit that makes no sense. He sings like he's been somewhere, you know? Like I can relate completely to this dude, it's a weird connection; maybe anyone who loves Dinosaur Jr feels that way.
You're Living is just one of those albums that gets me right in the gut; it means a lot to me and brings back a lot of memories. I hope anybody who decides to get this album will feel the same.

To clear any confusion, this album was recorded in 1982 and 1986 then eventually released in 2001. I think this is one of the best live albums I've ever heard and it's mainly because of the straight up raw energy; you really get a feel for what the Kennedys were about and you get more of a feel of just how cool Jello Biafra is. This album has a lot of their singles on it and the quality has been criticized by Jello himself (what doesn't he hate?) but it still confidently proves that the Dead Kennedys are fucking awesome.

After a lot of thinking I realized that an Estradasphere experience isn't complete without listening to It's Understood. Therefore if you liked Quadropus then it's probable you'll like this album even more -who knows, maybe I'll post Buck Fever or Palace of Mirrors later because everything they've done is damn near perfect. So after "Hunger Strike" dumbfounds your brain with its elaborate instrumentals, the rest of the album will seem like an unreal revelry of every genre known to mankind. Just try to keep your pants on.

Nostradamus is a forthcoming concept album by English heavy metal band Judas Priest, focusing on the 16th century prophet Nostradamus. The band’s first concept album, it was originally intended to be released in late 2006 before being pushed to a 2007 release, and now,according to the official website, is set to be released on June 16th 2008 on Epic records. Musically, the album will contain symphonic orchestrations including the use of keyboards and choirs which will be unlike anything the band have previously attempted before. Nostradamus centers around the life and times of the prophet. The first disc details various prophecies he has about the future and the end of the world. This leads to him being exiled. Later on, after his death, the world realizes just how right he was.

A previously unreleased SATYRICON song, "My Skin Is Cold", is included on the band's new EP of the same name, which was issued on June 2 in most of Europe. The track was omitted from the final running order of the
group's 2002 album "Volcano" and has remained unreleased up until this point. Joining those two tracks are live versions of "Repined Bastard Nation" and "Mother North" that were recorded in Gjallarhorn and include members of the Oslo Philarmonic Orchestra and the Norwegian Broadcast Orchestra as well as "Live Through Me" and "Existential Fear-Questions", two tracks that were only released as bonus songs on the LP edition of "Volcano".

"My Skin Is Cold" was released as a seven-inch gatefold vinyl single including a five-track CD. This is the only physical version of the EP and the packaging is said to be "truly one of a kind!"

Night Songs is Cinderella's debut album, released in 1986 through Mercury Records. It sold several million copies due to a combination of their breakthrough single Nobody's Fool, MTV airplay, and an opening slot on labelmates Bon Jovi's tour, in support of their album Slippery When Wet. The album peaked at #3 on the US charts on February 7, 1987,[1] and was certified double platinum for selling 2 million copies there twelve days later.[2] In May 1991 it was certified triple platinum for selling 3 million copies sold[2], proving that its commercial status hadn't shrunk. Leadoff single "Shake Me" failed to chart, but "Nobody's Fool" cracked the Top 20, reaching #13. Third single "Somebody Save Me" stalled at #66. On May 4, 1987, Cinderella filmed parts of their concert in Philadelphia. These live songs were, along with their three MTV videos, released on home video in August 1987 on Night Songs: The Videos.

Cinderella's second studio album, released in 1988 through Mercury Records. It reached #10 in the US, which was initially a minor disappointment compared to Night Songs' at #3, though it did go double-platinum for selling 2 million copies in the US by the end of the year, just as Night Songs had done. It soon became apparent that the band's stardom hadn't faded the least with both albums going triple platinum in the 1990s.

The album featurs four singles, which were all hits in the US. "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)", which was to be Cinderella's highest-charting single, reached #12, "The Last Mile", reached #36, "Coming Home" reached #20, and the classic "Gypsy Road" hit #51 a full year after the release of the album itself.

With Long Cold Winter, Cinderella started to move away from the glam metal-territory of their previous album and into a more blues-rock direction, akin to early 70's Rolling Stones, Humble Pie and Deep Purple. Still retaining elements of their Def Leppard-like past, the album is widely seen as the representative sound of Cinderella, bridging a gap between their pop-metal beginnings to that of their later styles, represented by their following album, Heartbreak Station.

Heartbreak Station is Cinderella's third studio album, released in 1990 through Mercury Records. It hit #19 in the US and went platinum for selling a million albums there the same year. Still Climbing is the fourth studio album by Cinderella, released in 1994 through Mercury Records. Musically, it followed in the footsteps of their previous effort, Heartbreak Station, providing them with another album of gritty blues-rock in the vein of The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses and Humble Pie. Unfortunately, the album, which by most fans has been named as the equal or more of their previous efforts in terms of quality, was the victim of an MTV that ignored it, a record company that barely promoted it, and an audience whose taste had changed completely.

While Cinderella's first three albums all had gone platinum, the domination of grunge and alternative rock in the mid-1990s was so strong that it forced Still Climbing to chart at a lowly #178 and drop out after a mere few weeks. Despite featuring the minor hits "Bad Attitude Shuffle" (which was released as a single), "Hard to Find Words", and "Hot and Bothered" from the Wayne's World soundtrack, the album went nowhere, and the band's so far last studio album stands as a prime example of the loss of popularity among 1980's hard rock bands after the arrival of Nirvana.

Ridiculously pissed hardcore with elements of melody, thrash, and general poor disposition, ghostlimb compile all the rage a minute long song can handle with sprinklings of social critique and dissatisfied sarcasm. Great debut from ex-EAVES and ENGRAVE members, which fits somewhere between both bands, but with a darker and heavier feel. Trainwreck jam pack every song with hate, angst and just plain old disgust. This is a great example on how to take several genres and blur them all together for something unique and fresh.

Another stellar band out of Australia. The Broderick seem to have a knack for combining elements from other really good hardcore bands and melding them into a style unique unto their own. As a band, they have charted a course and set sail with one singular destination: a hardcore band with the partying sense of Motley Crue, and the wholesome likability of Ranger Rick. Whether it's doing lines of coffee in its powder form off blonde bombshells (or soccer moms depending on what time of day it is) or explaining the life cycle of the Northern Icelandic Tree Owls to 4th graders, Grace Gale will continue to rock until one of them is dumb enough to fall in love. "The variety of grimness on Laid Insignificant makes it a less caustic (or at least more enjoyably caustic) listen than the numbingly downtrodden early records by sludge brothers Eyehategod and Melvins. Cavity’s best songs build tension with creative use of feedback and discordant picking and tempo changes, and always hit payoff when those mammoth doom riffs land. And vocalist Rene Barge possesses a huge range of throat-shredding techniques in his arsenal, adding to the band’s dynamic attack. So while Laid Insignificant’s brevity qualifies it as an EP, it’s got the breadth of a full album. Cavity’s long gone, but the Laid Insignificant reissue does a nice job of filling the hole."

Jigsore Terror was formed in year 2001 by Tobbe "Six Feet" Ander (Scams, Smooth & Greedy, Leukemia) on guitar and Adde Mitroulis (Birdflesh, General Surgery, Sayyadina) on drums. Very soon bass player Hampus Klang (Birdflesh, Bullet, Hypnosia) and vocalist Tobbe Eng (Thunderdog) joined the band. The reason to start this project was to play some kind of old school death metal in the vein of the early brutal bands like Repulsion, Death and Terrorizer.The band made several songs and played some shows. In October 2002 they decided to record their first demo in Soundlab Studios. Six songs were recorded and the demo was sent to some labels. A deal was signed in 2004 with Listenable Records in France. The first album was also recorded in Soundlab by Mieszko Talarczyk (Nasum, Genocide Superstars). Before the recording vocalist Tobbe Eng left the band due to lack of time. So Adde recorded the vocals on the album.

Favourite Worst Nightmare is the second studio album by Sheffield indie rock band Arctic Monkeys that was first released in Japan on 18 April 2007[1] before being released around the world. Recorded in East London's Miloco Studios with producers James Ford and Mike Crossey, the album was preceded by the release of new single "Brianstorm" on 16 April 2007.[2] In its first week following release the album sold over 220,000 copies, emulating Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not in going straight to number one in the UK Albums Chart, albeit selling 100,000 copies fewer than their record-breaking debut. Favourite Worst Nightmare's first day sales of 85,000 outsold the rest of the Top 20 combined, while all twelve tracks from the album entered the top 200 of the UK Singles Chart in their own right.[3] In the USA, the album debuted at number seven, selling around 44,000 copies in its first week.[4] The album has since gone 2x platinum[5]in the UK and the album was nominated for the 2007 Mercury Prize. At the 2008 BRIT Awards it won Best British Album.

Reign in Blood is the third studio album and major label debut by the American thrash metal band Slayer. Released on October 7, 1986, the album was the band's first collaboration with record producer Rick Rubin, whose input helped the band's sound evolve. Reign in Blood was very well received by both critics and fans, and was responsible for bringing Slayer to the attention of a mainstream metal audience. Kerrang! magazine described the record as "the heaviest album of all time," and a breakthrough in thrash metal and speed metal.

Reign in Blood's release was delayed because of concerns regarding its graphic artwork and lyrical subject matter. The opening track, "Angel of Death", which refers to Josef Mengele and describes acts committed at the Auschwitz concentration camp, provoked allegations of Nazism.[2] However, the band stated numerous times they do not condone Nazism, and are merely interested in the subject.[3] The album was Slayer's first to enter the Billboard 200; the release peaked at number 94, and was awarded gold certification on November 20, 1992.
